Born out of the vision of our founder Thiru.K.M.Desikar in 1958 ,Valivalam Desikar Polytechnic College (VDP) aims to empower the rural youth in the Nagapattinam district of Tamilnadu with technical skills which in turn will uplift the society as a whole. VDP has a history of attracting young talented youth. VDP follows the DOTE(Directorate Of Technical Education) recommended admission pattern giving preference to merit . It also helps the students by way of providing scholarships. We offer our students, who come from diverse backgrounds, the widest possible scope and opportunity for academic exploration and all round growth.

VDP strives to provide a unique setting for stimulating creative thoughts which ensure that every student who graduates from its portals scores high in public-spiritedness and remains committed to the society concerned. Our committed faculty forms the backbone for every endeavour we enter into.
