Our founder Thiru K.M.Desikar, B.A. was a noted Philanthropist and a Member of the Legislative Council . He established Valivalam Desikar Polytechnic College with the aim of giving technical education to the rural students mostly of agrarian families in the year 1958 at Thanjavur under the Valivalam Desikar Educational Trust. Later the Polytechnic was shifted to Nagapattinam in the year 1959-1960. From then the polytechnic is functioning in Nagapattinam. The main vision of our founder is to empower the rural youth with technical skills.
